Hi! 

 I'm Purnima. A beader, wire wrapper, and jewellery designer. Mostly though, I'm someone who can't walk past a dried leaf or a piece of bark without picking it up and turning it over in my hands.

It all started with a pair of pliers.

Years ago, I wandered into a craft store just as a beading workshop was beginning and couldn't quite make myself leave. My husband insisted I buy a pair of jewellery-making pliers. I had absolutely no reason to own them, but I bought them anyway.

They sat in a drawer for two years.

Then one evening, a necklace came apart at a party. I remembered the pliers, fixed the necklace, and something quietly shifted. That was it. I was hooked.

What started with beads slowly grew into wire wrapping, metalwork, gemstones, and eventually designing jewellery inspired by the natural world. Somewhere along the way, I realised I was less interested in perfect things and far more drawn to the wonderfully imperfect ones.

A pebble that somehow finds its way into my pocket after a walk.

I also have a notebook that's full of scribbles. Most of the time I can barely read what I've written. An idea will pop into my head and I have to sketch it before it disappears. Some of those little sketches stay just that. Others quietly find their way into a Tavasha collection months, sometimes years, later.

Inspiration has a funny way of showing up. It might be in the middle of a conversation, during a museum visit, or even in a dream that has me waking up convinced I need to make a particular piece. I've learnt not to question it anymore. I just reach for the notebook.

Every piece at Tavasha begins with something that made me stop and look a little closer. A leaf. A flower. An ancient ornament. A stone. A shape in nature that refuses to leave my mind.
